A vast majority of users see the subreddits as being independent anyway ( runescape = RS3 and 2007 runescape = OSRS), so this is not something we have needed to tackle prominently since the volume of OSRS Fire Cape-related submissions here is minimal. One complication with post filtering is it can not be presumed users will always use standards in a place that will visit a filter as it isn't necessarily the case. AutoModerator filters based on specific criteria, so building an accurate list that's only specific to everything you're trying to catch is not always possible.

Some users know how to deliberately bypass filters, which makes them worthless, and when we make a filter overly broad, more posts are filtered than justified. This creates more frustration for consumers and much more work for us while we'd prefer to prevent over-moderating. We might look in to attempting to revive a filter for phishing email questions, but that's something for us to talk privately amongst the mod group. The preceding filter was unable to achieve what was desired at the moment, so it was disabled for now. These articles do share an overlap with different filters within our subreddit, so a number of them are eliminated for other reasons.

To clarify on the previous sentence out of my previous comment, overall, this subreddit is for Runescape's community, and as subreddit mods, we would rather our presence be minimal. While some other subreddits may have a highly visible mod presence, that is not something we are interested in.

I don't think anyone in any capacity expects a plug and play solution nor expects anyone in the mod group to break their spine for no pay. Filters require upkeep to correctly function, take spam filters for email; that's decades of effort to be certain that the Nigerian prince doesn't make it into your inbox and hell occasionally it doesn't work, sometimes my 2FA winds up in spam, but we still don't delete a spam filter. I only want to explain that I'm not talking you at some presser or something simply having a dialog.

I believe this just reinforces not only the argument for getting an Automod notify potential new posters of the'gentleman's agreement', or even formally separating them. You have a virtual'desire route' going on here where your neighborhood has decided to segregate the material, do not you think you need to listen to them? These are all growing pains and nothing which can't be sorted out with the years, its one thing to state that no one has the drive or ability to maintain a filter right now but don't make it out to be an impossible effort. In addition, I feel like I'm at a soviet court house and the bailiff was just told to shoot the Buy RS3 Gold who jaywalked, bro you do not need to delete OSRS or spilled articles in this case just have automod comment on it with info pointing people in the ideal direction.
